1962 Topps "Civil War News" Card Set

Apparently Topps put out a "Civil War News" playing card set in 1962. I love finding obscure things like this. You can see them all online at Authentichistory.com. Thanks to US Military Railroad for the link! Definitely something interesting to look at.

Josiah,
You can probably buy a set of repros pretty cheap.
Today everything is reproduced. In 1887 there was a set of cards that came with cigarettes. Generals of the Civil War...there was 25 in the set, today there over a 100.00 apiece. I bought a reproduction set for 14.00 and they look great.

Great idea CR! I'll have to see what I can find online. Thanks!

These same bubblegum cards were also released here in the UK at the same time and inspired me at the tender age of 6 to start playing ACW wargames with my older brother! We collected the whole set at the time which I still have. I have a post about them on my own blog http://hintonhunt.blogspot.com/2011/01/more-rebs-yanks-off-topic-17.html

Cheers, Ian

Any suggestions on where to buy a reproduced set?

I couldn't find any reproductions online. The originals are fairly easy to find but a little bit pricey!
